The British troops, under Lord Chelmsford, had camped at the base of the hill Isandhlwana on its way to "punish" King Cetshwayo of the Zulus during the first days of the First Zulu Invasion. Little did he know that the Zulu impis were larger and more powerful than expected, or that they had been waiting for this moment... Historically, the British forces were wiped out despite their modern weapons.
